Share laughs, creativity, and a bit of messy fun as you both learn the art of wheel throwing. Wheel throwing is a skill that takes years to perfect, so come with a sense of impermanence and a playful attitude. Enjoy the process, embrace the learning curve, and have fun creating something uniquely yours.

 

Workshop Highlights:

  • Introduction to Wheel Throwing: Get acquainted with the potter’s wheel and the essential tools you'll be using. Our experienced instructors will provide a brief overview and demonstration to get you started.

  • Centering Techniques: Discover the art of centering your clay on the wheel, a crucial step for creating balanced and symmetrical pieces.

  • Forming and Shaping: We will go over pulling up walls to make simple vessel.

  • Hands-on Practice: Spend the majority of the session practicing your new skills, with plenty of one-on-one assistance and encouragement from our instructors.

What You’ll Take Home: By the end of the workshop, you'll have created your very own piece of pottery. We will fire and glaze it for you, ready for pickup in 2-3 weeks. Your handmade piece will be a perfect memento of your creative experience.

Dive into the world of pottery with our Wheel Throwing Clay Taster Workshop. Come spin the wheel and create something uniquely yours!

FIRING AND PICK UP:

Once you are complete, choose your glaze option and leave it with us to fire. After a few weeks, return to pick up your finished piece. We work with mid-fire stoneware and your piece will be dishwasher and microwave safe.

AGE:

This workshop is suitable for ages 16 to 100, minors must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Please note that extra guests are not permitted to attend or observe the workshop unless they have registered themselves. This includes children—our workshops cannot accommodate unregistered minors.
